    Having previously read another of the author s books Contrition and thought it was average, I was very surprised at how much Brothers of the Watch caught my attention.Disclaimer I was given a review copy of this book by the author.As far as fantasy books go, Brothers of the Watch would classify as low fantasy There will be no mages and fairies and potions in this book, but there is plenty of made up society and religion That is all unimportant, because Brothers of the Watch doesn t focus too much on world building, but when it does, it does so beautifully, in an immersive, believable way that will go unnoticed if you re not looking for it You ll simply find yourself suddenly knowing a lot about the world and societal dynamics surrounding the main characters.These are real people, believable, each with their own personality, goals and quirks that make them a delight to read They fit well w...
